Founders, Survivor Connections
Survivor Connections was established in 2023 by Sherry and Sarah, both survivors of modern slavery in Australia. The initiative was founded in response to the critical need for peer support, independent survivor advocacy, and help to navigate often fragmented service systems. Survivor Connections works to ensure that the knowledge and experiences of survivors inform policy, guide systemic responses, and contribute to the prevention of modern slavery. Survivor Connections members have direct lived experience of exploitation linkedwith University contexts, enabling them to share their insights specific to that environment.
